Many families from southern and northern California can sell their homes and still get a better and larger one in the Prescott or Prescott Valley areas. Remember it's no longer the 1980's and Prescott now has condos, Wal*Mart and more crime. However, it's a ton better than big time Phoenix, LA or Dallas! Unless you have actually LIVED in a big city Prescott can seem a lot better to outsiders?

i've been in az since 92 (was born here but moved alot-military family).
i've visited Prescott on a day trip or for the weekend b/c my ex-husband's parents have a cabin up there.
personally i would never live there or raise my kids there but it is a nice place to visit. I think alot of people move there to escape the "hustle and bustle" of busy phoenix life. alot of people like small towns.
not to mention that the weather there is about 20-25 degrees cooler than phx in summer and you get to see snow in the winter.

It is a great place to raise kids though. However, after that I hope to move on too. Though we have become a suburb of California, we do have strong sense of community.
Yes, it suck here bottom line, but in the mean time take advantage of the lakes, trails and events down around the Court House. Once you realize you live in a town many dream of living in you might feel a little better. It works for me now and then.

Sux or not, Prescott is running out of water. The homes are over-priced and the job market is non-existant. Other than that...you have great views and sunshine, uhh, al l l l l l l the time!!! What's not to love?

Many people want to leave the east and mid-west and experience Arizona living. You've been there forever, so you're tired of it. I moved to AZ from Chicago and love it. If I tire of it, I can pick up again, but it is still exciting and beautiful to me to live in a desert environment. I also think home is where your friends are. With so many people moving here, it is easy to form new friendships.

the excuses replace from movie to movie. many times, the familiar reason is that human beings make AI, and application it to guard us. by way of fact we continually injury one yet another, that programming ultimately leads the AI to have faith the only way it could safeguard us is by capacity of taking on so as that we gained't injury one yet another anymore. interior the Matrix storyline, whilst the machines benefit self-information, they want rights like human beings have. human beings refuse provided that machines have been made to serve them. The machines ultimately see this as slavery and upward thrust as much as overthrow humanity; and at last the machines set up their very own society. This gadget society continues to be at odds with a human society desiring comparable supplies and a human society that now believes machines are risky and could be destroyed. So the two societies flow to war and are nevertheless at war as quickly as we finally get to Neo's storyline (the movies).

Maybe it is growing. You can't stop progress. Also, being from Cornwall, I know that it is a safe place to raise kids.
