for the people who think im stupid i already knew it was good but i just wanted to know how good. yes ive heard about overclocking your cpu my quad core was originally running at 2.66 ghz each core but i overclocked it to 3.5ghz. it cost a little more than 1000 dollars. my dad has hookups at our local fry's store so we get discounts on pc parts, gaming cards, video games etc.

Should be good for ALL the games out now at max settings. Memory could be slow though. That rig deserves this:

and not just a ddr2 800.

You own this computer and don't know how fast it is??? It's pretty freaking sweet, although I'm surprised you don't have faster RAM (why do you need 8 gigs for a home computer)? Since money's no object, you could've gotten 4 Raptor (or hitachi ultrastar) HDD's and RAIDed them. If you had top of the line RAM and top of the line hdds, this computer would be about as fast as they come. Sell the RAM on ebay and buy 2 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010170147+1052416064+1052308477+1395428464&name=High+Performance+or+Gaming+Memory Download the benchmark test from this site:
www.passmark.com.
The top ten computers in the database scored over 2,000. Let me know what that beast scores.
If you spent over 4,500 it's probably not worth it and if you bought it from alienware, it probably was over 4500. I just summed it up on newegg and you could get a comparable pc (without the alienware name) for about 3500.
Just curious, how much did it cost?

No, you could have built that system for way less, alienware rips you off. I have a tutorial that walks people through building their own game system overclocking a core 2 duo running at 1.86ghz up to 3.5ghz.

Should have went with Raptor hard drives! You also wasted money on 8GB of slow 533 ram. 4GB of 800, the speed your board was designed for, would dust your ram!

Pretty awesome, but why such slow memory?
You put so much effort and $$ into it, why not go the rest of the way and use 667 or 800mhz?
