what is the meaning of the above phrase?

It means that someone thinks they can take advantage of you and get money from you for something you could never claim or for something worthless .... sort of like the saying "sell you a pig in a poke".

It could be an inversion of the idea of selling Brooklyn Bridge to the tourists.

Some context might help us interpret it.

It means that the person is using an english-Spanish dictionary and probably looked up the wrong word. He may have meant car instead of bridge, but we just don't know.
