18% = 18/100 so

18/100 of 400 = 18/100 * 400 = 72

If 18% = 18/100, and 100*4 = 400...

then 18*4 = 72

Try it.... 0.18*400 = 72

The answer is 72!

The sum i done was: 400 divided by 100, times by 18!

I took the quantity (400) and devided by the maximum possible percentage (100 coz percentage is always out of 100) and then this gave me 1%, I then times by 18 2 get 18%!

All you need to do is multiply 400 x 0.18 (which is 18/100 or 18%). and you get 72.
