2x512mb for XP and 2x1Gb RAM for Vista (dual channel mode) should be fine. Just be sure you have x16 PCIe slot in your PC and NOT AGP.

The card draws up to 4 amps on the +12V rail of the power supply. Be sure your power supply has 18 amps or higher.

The only cards that need a 450watt+ power supply are the x1950-series ATI and the 8800-series Nvidia.

The more important aspect is the AMPS on the +12v rail and the efficiency of the power supply. Look for 80+ efficiency and 30amps on the +12v rail(s).

You'd be fine on a quality 380-450watt PSU. Something like this:

Top-notch brand, 85% eefficiency, 450watts, and a 33amp +12v rail. Hell, it would even power an 8800gtx. All for $65 with google checkout.

Don't buy your PSU from newegg.com, that is one thing they rape people on.

The only thing that is likely to be a problem is the PCI-Express slot (old computers may not have this) and the 225 watt power requirement (that is all of your other hardware's needs PLUS the 225 watts, so you end up needing a 500+ watt power supply most of the time).
