Of course not. They are invested in defeat and will do all they can to see it through.

Are you saying that you're happy with the way the Democratic congress is performing? Perk city here we come.
If the Democrats win (which may or may not be a good thing) will they invite the Syrian, and Iranian leaders to come to America for a pow-wow? Nancy Pelosi, and the Liberal media (eg. Diane Sawyer) have already started the ball rolling. Will America invite Osama bin Laden and ask for forgiveness? Will Muslim holidays suddenly become national holidays while Christmas continues to be a bad word?
Will we hear more rich elitists (Edwards, Gore) continuously preach how they understand the poor while they rake in the big bucks and continue to pollute like there's no tomorrow?

It's hard to say if you're winning when the objectives are not clear. What's the objective of this war?
Let's see some possibilities
Revenge for 9/11 (or justice, call it whatever you want). For three thousands US citizens, three thousands US soldiers were sacrificed, many more wounded and gazillions spent. And it's not the right people to take revenge with. Doesn't look like winning to me.
Take out Saddam. Good job but it would be a lot better to get the heck out while the price was cheap. Again, three thousands US soldiers, many more wounded and gazillions spent...
Pacify Iraq. Terrible job so far and incredible expensive.
Give contracts to Halliburton. Great job!!!!!
I can't think of other goals...

We declared "victory" in Iraq along time ago. Turned out that it wasn't a victory at all but rather the beginning of a long drawn out war with no end in sight.
Where do you get off claiming victory now? Come back again when Iraq has enjoyed at least 5 years of peace under the government of their choice.

NEW YORK — The latest FOX News poll shows that while President Bush’s job rating remains low and a majority of Americans disapproves of his performance, his approval rating is up this week to its highest level in five months. Today 37 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Bush is doing, up from 33 percent last month, and 58 percent disapprove.
In addition, approval of Congress also increased: 32 percent of Americans approve, up from 24 percent in August, and 56 percent disapprove.

Um, are you declaring victory from General Petreaus' report? I don't think that is a wise choice and because of that, they'll let Bush have this "success" all to himself.
