What is the difference between the old, rejected EU Constitutional Treaty and the new Reform Treaty that Brussels and our government are trying to foist on us?
German lawyer Klaus Heeger, who is a legal adviser and researcher for the Ind/Dem Group in the European Parliament, has analysed the two documents and reached some interesting conclusions.
According to Mr Heeger's analysis, the Old Constitutional Treaty granted the EU 105 new competences. The Reform treaty also grants the EU 105 new areas of competence. Out goes the EU symbols, in comes climate change. The other 104 remain the same.
Decision-making by Qualified Majority Voting replaces unanimity in 62 new areas in the Reform Treaty, one more than in the Constitution. Out goes intellectual property rights, in come energy and climate change. The other 60 remain the same.
A European Constitution by any other name...
In other words " NO" get right out A.S.A.P....

Yes ! We should have a referendum and we shouldnt have to campaign for it! Gordon Brown promised a referendum on the constitution and thinks he can sideline that promise simply because they now call it the treaty. Bad luck for him that so many foreign ministers have openly admitted they are one and the same document! EU ministers are laughing at the populace because they are getting away with railroading us all into this dictatorship! You are so right when you say we are fed up with the treachery and the lies. It is our kids future and their birthright that is being destroyed. I will be at the rally on the 27th Oct. So should you be and anyone who is concerned about this undemocratic superstate and the powers it already wields

I say let us get out of EU ASAP.
I feel so strong about leaving EU that if the Libdems will stick to this proposal, then I might possibly vote for them in the next general elections.

I would love to see this country exit the EU.
A United Europe will never work, there are to many conflicting issues between neighbouring countries that I just can`t see them even agreeing to the colour of the toilet paper.
This country is slowly being destroyed by Europe and this country`s consecutive governments who let our rights become eroded by European tossers.

The BEST thing that Britain should do is get as far away from the EU that it can. They don't want to belong to a Empire and that is all that it is.

the sooner we are out the better. its been lie after lie. unfortunately lots here either believe them, or are just to apathetic to do anything about it. we seem to have got into some kind of comfort zone and lots are frightened of change.and of course bribed by cheap flights ect. iv given up myself. god knows why people cant wake up to these bureaucrats in Europe, lots still cant see the future of the united states of Europe. but unfortunately that's the plan.

Yes. I dont trust our politicians to do the best for us. in France and Germany they work a max of 37 hours and pay has been increased to make it ok. Here it is 60 hours . Yikes!!!!!

a resounding no!! i see no point in us tying ourselves up in that nightmare. people should be reminded that capitalism has no loyalties, no friends , no morals, no boundaries. and there certainly are no rules to the game. so the notion that your better off in the club is ridiculous.
