Go to the store and buy a bag of candy corn. Put some in a glass, maybe 5 for each day until October. Eat 5 each day until October that way you are "counting down" the days til you are able to put the decorations up. We are using the candy each day count down to countdown the days until daddy comes home from Iraq. The kids like that they can have a piece of candy and the amount of candy in the dish helps them "see" how much longer until daddy comes home. I know you arent a kid but it could still work to distract you enough from putting up the decorations. You could also watch a different halloween movie everyday until its time to put up decorations. If you really dont want to wait then dont wait... just put them up, who cares if you are already decorating!

I don't know, because I'm in the same boat you are. 16 more days until I can put up decorations!
Actually, I've already started putting up my "fall" decorations, such as leaf garlands. Those go up now, and stay up through Thanksgiving. Do you have any of that type you can put up now?
Otherwise, I've been hitting the stores and seeing what new things are out right now. I spend a lot of time on ebay looking at the Dept. 56 Halloween Village pieces and have started to build the bases for my new and current pieces. I also need to start making my Halloween costume.
Doing all these small projects that lead up to the big Halloween decorations is keeping me busy.

I know what you mean. I love halloween!!!!!
Just pace yourself. If you have alot of decorations that need proper care and time and take a long time to hang up then start with easy stuff first. like lights. after that 2 weeks before halloween start putting up the big huge ones. Get everyting early!
Have fun!!!

well you could do a rally big halloween trick you could get a manequin and put it in your halloween costume then on halloween swap the manequin with yourself people wold've been expecting it to be fake because of how long it had been a manequin then on halloween peole will come to your house and be like oh theres that statue then you start chasing them. justmake sure you tell them to come back for candy after your little prank. also make sure your manequin thing s sitting or else you'll have to stand the whole time

lol on your spelling mistake!
Start decorating inside the house first; that way YOU can enjoy it & the rest of your neighborhood won't think you're crazy. I'm like you, I love it & CAN'T WAIT!!! Only 46 days to go - but who's counting?!?!?
Happy Halloweeeeeennnnn!!!!!

I can't wait either!
Start putting them up inside first, so you can hang out in spookiness.
Watch lots of horror movies(Chiller channel for the whole month of October has the best scary movies)
Read horror novels.
You could also plan out how you want to set up outside the house.

Ahhhh.....but you CAN put up scarecrows, pumpkins, pretty yellow and orange flowers such as mums, sunflowers and pretty autumn fake leaves. You can buy fake flowers at hobby shops such as Hobby Lobby and Michael's. Surround your home with the colors of oranges and yellows.
We are in the process of putting a five foot scarecrow up outside with fake pumpkins at its feet.
Enjoy autumn first, and then enjoy Halloween.
We have changed out all wall pictures to those of fields of pumpkins; one of farmers bringing in pumpkins and fall vegetables from the fields; autumn forest; and etc.
Click this link to set up an autumn tree:
