by the way, where are the homeless people? we don't hear about them in the news anymore?

I dont know where you live, but I watch the homeless people walk up and down the boulevard every day. They only make the news when one of them interferes with the other folks. It's like the elephant in the living room. Everyone knows it's there, but they just walk around it and pretend it's not there. Here in Los Angeles, people with money have started to build condos right in the heart of Skid Row. They have guarded entrances and exits and seldom get to see the homeless on the streets below their penthouses. I attended a concert in downtown Los Angeles recently. We parked in a nice lot, but had to cross the street to get to the site of the concert. We had to step over a number of people who had made the sidewalk their home. I've worked with the homeless since the 70's. I know they're still there, we just have to make them as interesting as Paris Hilton. Then-they'll get some attention.

Gradually we are all not caring about the homeless, the starving, the abused etc.etc. It's all politics, Iraq, George Bush, money, mortgages, etc.etc.etc. A selfish society.

Compassion is something we also don't hear about anymore.

It's also all about the stars now, The Beckhams, Paris, Britney and what everyone looks like.

We should be VERY concerned.
