Does anyone here think it is ethical to sue MCdonalds for making you fat? IF so, then why do you believe you , or people have the right to sue them when they make the choice to eat the food and everyone knows it is fattening. I am sure that some people would have no problem sueing Mcdonald's just to make a quick buck but does anyone here really believe it is ethical to sue mcdonald' for making people fat, instead of the people being forced to take responsiblity for their actions? If so please explain your reasoning

I don't think you should be able to sue anyone because of your choices.

The choice to sue is no longer based on ethics.
The current criteria is the existence of "Deep Pockets`.
Knock it all you want to.
It's the only form of class struggle that seems to have any effectiveness in our time, and that only because the lawyers get a large 'cut`.

Uh...actually ratta, that's different. In you scenario, the man ALSO went to a bar and tramped it up without using birth control. So they're both equally at fault.

But to answer the quesion, no, that wouldn't be fair. Unless McDonalds was making claims to the contrary, that their food was healthy, etc. Or if there were other types of health problems that one couldn't reasonably expect. But in the scenario you've described. no.

You have a choice, you can either eat healthily or not. If you chose to hand over McDonald's your cash for the food they offer, it's clearly your own fault.

three cheers for personal responsibility

No, its not ethical at all. You know before you bite into that double quarter pounder that its gonna make you fat. You aren't having a gun held to your head and being made to eat it are you?? Well then no, you can't gripe! lol ... good point on this question.

except you incredibly sustained injuries that could preclude your favourite recurring, you will get trampled by capacity of McDonalds lawyer team. you will lose, your undesirable eye sight (not donning glasses/touch lenses?) and you have been feeling ill from a modern transport (except it grew to become into C-area you will possibly get well in a pair days) you have have been given no criminal leg to stand on.

it makes as much sense as women who go out to the bar and tramp it up then sue some poor guy for child support because she was such a bimbo that she didn't use birth control.
