Does it matter? The fact is that the primaries will decide and Thompson has a political backstory which will not attract liberal voters. For any candidate to win, they need undecideds and a few moderates from the other side, and that is why picking the most conservative or most Republican candidates is a sure way for them to lose. Giuliani has the appeal of being "America's mayor" and will have the authority to sway voters.

i hope everyone leads over giuliani- if he is elected i will move out of country! he is the worst possible candidate! - he is for amnesty, want say he won't raise taxes- has not a moral clue in his body, his buisness is linked to recieving money from the war through contracts, the only platform he has is 9/11- and he CONSTANTLY falls back on that- which in reality, he didn't do much with that anyway- he even got booed at 9/11 memorial! His own family doesn't like him becasue of his many public indescretions- and quite frankly is annoying! He only is leading in polls because of name recognition- that's it- if anyone even googled his name they would see all of the horrible facts about both his politics and his personal life- but thompson needs to find someway to get around his lobbying- especially for pro choice lobbying- when he claims to be pro-life. I don't like lobbying- especially for someone who will be president- its a red flag- but i would like to hear him debate the issues- so far everyone is voting by pure speculation- i think he will be the split voter.

No. Even after Thompson's bump from finally entering the race, Giuliani still leads him by 5% on average

and Thompson basically has nowhere to go but down from now on. He has little money, is a poor speaker, and doesn't have very concrete positions on the issues.

looks like Giuliani actually gained a couple of % even after the remarks on illegal immigration

The % Thompson gained are the people Romney lost

I hope so. Guiliani is a real character. Being from NY I know him well enough. His acting on and around 9/11 is far overlaid by his actions as mayor before and after.

If you are thinking about polls, don't bother. Polls never win anything. Check the results of the Primary elections to find out who is leading. Of course you will have to wait until February of next year.

Thompson is well-liked, but how could he possibly run against Rudi's record

People think that because Guiliani was good at taking care of 911 that he'll be a good president? I don't get it. What's wrong with people? Look at his credentials and what he stands for. He's not good enough for me!

You will not have a definitive answer, until a lot closer to the convention, when some of the primaries have been held.
