I would say the answer is E. Different perspectives on history can cause both miscommunication and misunderstanding between people. If two people see an event differently, they will have problems communicating about it and understanding the other person's perspective. A and D are definitely wrong, there is no one correct history and misinterpreting history is not the issue, understanding is.

This is not an easy question.
Let's look at the choices.
d is not correct since there is in history no one correct version. In fact there is a part of history called historiography which is the study of different interpretations of eh same even.
a. does not make sense. It is not a logical choice for an answer
b and c are very similar except for the words miscommunication and misunderstanding. Either or both ideas are reasons that cause people to understand history differently.
The best answer therefore would be e.

The two best answers are b and c, and since the teacher gave you the combination, that's probably the one she intends.
Both b and c talk about the need for different perspectives. A and d do not, but simply give reasons for learning history.

Well, I have to say that History is written by the winners, a japanese never will understand the History of the World War II the same way an american do, for example.
That's why there are so many interpretations of History, and there is no way for us to be sure that they told us what really happened, unless we see it with our own eyes, and even so, we can see and say what we want.
Good luck with your test
Merci!!!

It must be E, though it's a poor question. It would be a good essay, I think.
a and d) make the assumption there is a right and a wrong version of history
