Be consoled by the fact that you're a thinker.
It's not that you feel detached - you ARE and you know it. Wouldn't you hate to be one of the sheep?
Idea's for what? You want to feel more part of something? Surround yourself with people that you respect and who are similar to you - make friends with people who can understand you... realise that you're great!

I feel like this almost every day. I wonder if people see the things I see. Small things like the turtle dove in all of her simplicity fluttering her wings and splashing. The way the trees branches fall to the ground just so as in "The Giving Tree". Makes me want to climb it. Do you see the passing years. The many tears. Who are all these people around me who used to be my children but are now young adults wanting to make their way in the world. I am alone, sometimes depressed, but definitely apart. It is as it I am here to be a spectator for now and my life will start soon. I am in limbo. Am the fetus still in the womb. Yes. If I can't relate to what you are saying.....this is my reality.

As a matter of fact, I felt that way yesterday. What I did was think positive and got into various chores that I put off for way too long, before I knew it, I was feeling a lot better and I felt I had accomplished [by doing the various chores] something at days end.

I feel like that more and more often as I get older!! It's kind of scary sometimes!! I try to be a part of things, I spend a lot of time in here helping people, it gives me a place where I feel I can help people with things that I've gone through before!

the older i get, the more this happens. i just bear with it until i make a plan. a plan to escape, find my own avenue, ask a stewpid question( that always gets 'em), or simply speak up and say how i feel.

yes i do, that's happens when almost all the things i want to do seems to be going the wrong way, its hard to cope and people around me are unreceptive. what i do is i seclude myself for awhile and study what is going wrong, take rest and a breather and of course i try to inculcate self affirmation.

I feel like that when I'm in my classes. I don't have friends where I am and I feel detached from everything sometimes.

Yes....But you have to find some kind of common ground....People love people who listen....Be a good listener...Pay attention...And then you ask a question about their interests and listen...before you know it ...You'll fit right in.....
