Because they're like huge tanks and their driving skills might be getting bad so they figure if they swerve into another lane, people will see that big Cadillac coming and stay out of their way.

Because when most elderly people were young cadillacs were the 'in' car and they just hung on to it. Also the way that cars are made now (most a piece of crap and cost more than they should) I can't blame them.

You ever flown down the highway in a cadillac? They are one comfortable ride. Got clocked at 85mph one time when i thought i was way under the speed limit. Nice rides.

I was going to say my husband isn't old and he drives a Caddy ..... and then I realized that at age 49, he's probably old to you. So never mind!

But in his defense, he's had big cars since his first one at 18. He likes roomy cars that he thinks give him a better than average chance of surviving a crash with your average sized cars.

By that age,if they have investments, they can easily afford a large roomy car and they do need one since it's very tough for them to squeeze in and out of a compact. Plus, they enjoy the prestige, same way we'd like a Beamer or a Ferrari.

they're big and safe, and they have a really comfrotable ride. benz's and bmw's have a more sporty ride which an old person wouldn't want.
