Not a good idea. Rabbit's have sensitive stomachs and should only eat food for rabbits ( they also need lots of hay to eat too ). All of my rabbits have been scared of one thing or another, that's just the way rabbits are :-)

You shouldn't feed a rabbit anything that has corn or peas in it. I'm not sure what's in guinea pig food, but it should say on the label what it contains. The best food for a rabbit is Timothy hay or pellets made out of timothy. They have it at Petsmart and other good pet stores. It's ok to give them a small amount of carrot, lettuce or even a small piece of apple as a treat, but too much could make them sick.

Here's a good link for food advice:

Rabbits are naturally timid animals especially if you've only just gotten it. It takes a while for them to get used to their surroundings and new people touching them. Also, if there are other animals around that they think are predators, like cats, raccoons, dogs, etc. they will be very frightened. Try being very gentle and quiet around the rabbit. Don't try to pick it up, instead, sit where it can come to you for a treat and let it see that you're not going to hurt it. It takes time and patience, but it will pay off with a happy bunny. Also, rabbits like toys as much as any cat or dog does. A clean paper bag, or the cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels will give them something to play with. If you have apple trees or maple trees it's good to give them some small limbs to chew on, but make sure they haven't been sprayed with pesticides. Most people don't spray maple trees so those are usually safe. Limbs about the size of your thumb or a little larger are good.

No. Guinea pig pellets and rabbit pellets have different ingredients and nutritional values that are specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of the different species.

I buy my pellets at my feed store because I can buy pellets that are made locally (same state), is fresher, and high quality at a much cheaper price than at a pet store. Steer clear of any rabbit food that looks like it has Fruit Loops or candy in it. It's junk. Forget the pet store bought rabbit treats, too. Junk. You can find tastier, healthier treats in your own kitchen. Note: I don't give rabbits under 4 months old any greens in order to prevent enteritis but uncooked old-fashioned oatmeal, a few Cheerios, or half a piece of bread are great until then.

Your rabbit could be scared for many reasons. Being new to surroundings, not being handled properly or her living quarters may not be ideally set up for a rabbit. Pen in corner, reduced visibility from solid walls or placement of pen, up too high, small door, etc. are all reasons a rabbit may act out or act nervous.

Some of the problem MAY be genetic. Some rabbit breeds are high strung and others are know for being laid back and easy to handle.

In any case, I'd take a look at the placement/set up of her living quarters and really work on handling.

I handle lots of rabbits - my own, lots of shelter rabbits, and lots of other people's rabbits. Often while handling someone else's long time pet and the owner will say "How do you do that? She never is that calm with us". Handling can make a BIG difference in how your rabbit acts.

I don't mean just learn how to pick her up and put her down. I mean learn how to handle her well and do it often. Google rabbit showmanship or ask a 4H friend, who is doing the rabbit project, to let you borrow their project book and help you practice (or just consider joining 4H). After their first year these kids are not only experts at handling their pet rabbits but are extremely knowledgeable about their pets. My 7 year old 4Her knows more about rabbits than most adults. :)

Anyway, the more your rabbit is handled the faster she'll get used to you and calm down. You aren't going to break her so handle her a lot. You can only gain confidence in handling if you actually do it. She will pick up on your increasing expertise and chill because she'll trust you won't hurt her or drop her.

Tip: When carrying our rabbits from one place to another I tuck then heads into the crook of my arm so they can't see (their bums are facing the direction we are walking). This helps them to feel more secure because they are "hidden" from any scarey things. Think of the little child who covers his eyes to "escape" from montsers. :)

Hope that helps a little. Enjoy your rabbit!
