First: eliminate fractions - multiply the least common denominator, which is 5(x+2)

5(x+2)(15/x+2) = 5(x+2)(3/5)

*Cross cancel the same terms & combine the rest.

(5)(15) = (x+2)(3)
75 = 3(x) + 3(2)
75 = 3x + 6

SEc: combine "like" terms - subtract 6 from both sides (when you move a term to the opposite side, always use the opposite sign).

75-6 = 3x + 6-6
69 = 3x

Third: isolate "x" by itself - divide both sides by 3.

69/3 = 3x/3
23 = x, or x = 23

15/(x +2) = 3/5, cross multiply
15 x 5 = 3(x + 2), simplify
75 = 3x + 6, solve by subtracting 6 from both sides
69 = 3x, solve by dividing both sides by 3
23 = x

check:
15/25 simplifies to 3/5

15/x+2=3/5
15/x=3/5-2
15/x=3/5-2(5/5)
15/x=3/5-10/5
15x=-7/5
x=(-7/5)/15
x=-7/5*1/15= -7/75
