Can you imagine that I once in the US was in a restaurant, and at the end of the meal the main waiter, screamed throughout the dining-room something like " everything's all right there ???? " - in the country where I live this is very basically unconceivable

i say it most of the time
but saying yes/no ma'am and yes/no sir is taking it too far

I say both please and thank you and sir and ma'am...I was punished as a kid if I didn't and I guess it just stuck...it is polite especially when talking to elders.

The words please, thank you, you're welcome, excuse me, etc. are definitely an ingrained part of me!! It would seem wrong not to say them, I like people to know that they are appreciated no matter how minor or major a role they have in my life!
