8x^3 x 3y^2 divided by 6x^2 x 4y^3
( 8x^3 * 3y^2) / (6x^2 * 4y^3) =
(8x * 3) / (6 * 4y) =
24x / 24 y =
x/y
2
(6x divided by 18x^2) ^2
(6x / 18x^2) ^2 =
(6/18x)^2 =
(1/6x)^2 =
1/(36x^2)

(1) First you look at the 8x^3 and the 6x², 8/6 simplifies to 4/3. then you look at the x^3 over the x², to simplify that expression, you would subtract the exponents. so 3-2=1 so you have an x left over, which goes on the top (numerator) of the fraction.
So at this point we have 4x/3
Next you move on to the 3y² and 4y^3, 3/4 does not simplify so you just leave that the same then you do the same as before by subtracting the exponents. 2-3 which is -1. So you would have y^-1, you can move that to the bottom (denominator) by making the -1 positive.
So now we have (4x * 3)/(3 * 4y).
Now you can multiply 4x * 3 on the numerator which = 12x.
On the denominator you can multiply 3 * 4y which = 12y.
Now we have 12x/12y which you can simplify 12/12 to 1/1 which is just 1 so you have 1*x/y which ultimately =
x/y
(2) When you first start you need to look at what is inside the parenthesis 6x/18x². We can do the same steps that we did on the first one.
simplify 6/18 to 1/3
Then look at the x/x² subtract the exponents (1-2) and you get -1 so x^-1 can be moved to the denominator by making the exponent positive.
So now we have (1/3x)² all you have to do is distribute the ² into each number.
(1²/3²x²) which = (1/9x²)
ANSWERS:
(1) x/y
(2) (1/9x²)
I hope I have explained everything correctly, if I lost you in any of the steps just email me and I will help.

1 - 8x^3 x 3y^2 divided by 6x^2 x 4y^3
8x^3 x 3y^2 / 6x^2 x 4y^3
= 24 x^3y^2 / 24 x^2 y^3
= 24/24 x X^3-2 x Y^2-3
= X^1 x Y^-1
= x/y
2 - (6x divided by 18x^2) ^2
(6x / 18x^2)^2
=(6/18 x X^1-2)^2
= (1/3 x X^-1)^2
= (1/ 3x)^2
= 1/ 9x^2

As you have written, there is a -ve sign at the start of each question. Or is this meant to be a dash?
I will go with former but you may have other ideas!
Omit the - sign in answer if it is not meant to be in question.
Question 1
( - 24 ) ( x ³ )( y ² )
= -----------------------
( 24 ) ( x ² )(y ³)
= - x / y
Question 2
= - (1 / 3x) ²
= - (1 / 9 x ²)
