I usually take a really deep breath, expanding my chest and stomach (That gets your diaphram into it.) and when I yell, I push the air as hard as I can over my vocal chords and try to hit a higher pitch than my usual speaking voice as higher sounds travel better through the air. Also, make sure the sound comes out of you mouth and doesn't split and part come through you nose. You may have to practice yelling with your nose pinched shut till you get the hang of it.

I know someone who sings opera and he does alot of running and don't drink milk and eat cheese before he has to sing.. so it helps him rich a higher voice. Hope I helped ;)

Swim or exercise in general. You will have greater air capacity.
