If you're into the outdoors, I used to live in Damascus, VA.. you can hike the AT, VA Creeper, take a bike ride down the mountains, eat at cute little restaurants, stay at a B&B...

Can't go wrong with the mountains. If thats not your thing, plenty of things to do in Va Beach.
