Hello again. I can answer your question. When a spider is sleeping, it draws up its legs so you don't see them and yes, it does resemble a bug. Often when it is waiting to capture its prey in its web, it will roll itself up and wait and watch at one end of the web so that the victim will not recognize him or her. All spiders do that. Is it still on the ceiling? I can't tell you what kind of spider it is because I don't have a picture, but if it has very thin and skinny legs, it is probably just the ordinary spider that is perfectly safe and is not interested in biting you. In google images, search for spiders. You might find one who resembles your visitor.
