I've probably got no room to talk here, since my first name is Mondale. But, seriously....Hampton? What is the deal with that?

It really depends. If he is fat I would say no. If he isn't fat I would say yes. Only fat kids should be named Hampton. Wait. Yes. Only fat kids should be named Hampton. FAT=Hampton

When I think of the name Hampton, I think of jazz great Lionel Hampton. I like the name but maybe as a middle name.

Hampton is the name of the cartoon pig on Warner Bros. Tiny Toon Adventures and that name will always remind me of that. So, no I doubt I would ever consider naming a child that unless it was a family name and even then I would probably reconsider.

it depends on how many times you say the name. it's a beautiful name, but if someone says it every 2 seconds in reference to the kid, you will want to pull your hair out, strangle the soccer mom who is saying it, and go sit alone in a lounge chair with your ipod.
I might add that "Hampton" is a great name for a hamster or a turtle.

I had a friend named Ham, and he was fat. Is Hampton a fat child? That would probably make the other kids call him "Ham," and that might not be good for his self esteem. My friend named Ham was short for Hamilton, and he had fine self esteem, although he had a big drug problem in college.

yes, reminds me of a cartoon my lil cousin use to watch on nick jr. Hampton the pig was his name.

I think that's the name of the pig from Maggie & the Ferocious Beast, appropriate 'cause the nickname could be Ham... but for a person? That's just asking for kids to tease him :(
