They have called General Petraus, "General Betray-us" and as such have implicitly called him a traitor to this country AND by extension every other soldier that agrees with the General's assesment of the battle of Iraq; the majority of them.
An absolute perfidious sickness has befallen the left.
What sayeth you's?

Again with the swifties?
What they said was the truth. In fact, just recently, John Kerry let the statute of limitations lapse for filing any libel lawsuit against them.

I say take off their leash and let 'em run all they want. They'll over play their hand, as usual. Normal american voters will notice and vote accordingly in '08. (And watch for Hillary and the Clinton machine to try to put the muzzle on them real quick once she locks up the nomination.)

That's entirely FALSE. Your "by extension" is an incorrect assumption propagated by rightwing nutjobs trying to convince the rest of the country that Patraeus is independent... which he is not. He is towing W's party line, as we all knew he would. It's more Bush's fault Patraeus is in this position b/c W shouldn't be having Patraeus defend his policy... it's not his job. As general, his job is to complete whatever mission is given to him and follow orders. If it's any consolation to you, Patreaus' own commander, Admiral Fallon, hates that Patraeus is cowtowing to the president and has said so publicly... is he a traitor, too? I wouldn't call him that to his face, if I were you. If Patraeus had been really smart about this assessment, he would've grown some backbone & refused to testify. He reports to the president, not Congress anyway.

You really make broad assumptions, don't you? I don't support moveon.org, is very leftist for me. But there are many who are angry at Petraus and have labeled him a coward and "betray-us". This doesn't mean Democrats on the Hill have done the same thing. You think that moveon.org insulted the troop? They insulted the general but still many of them have sympathy for the soldiers. This is just another attempt to slander the left.

Oh, so now we aren’t allowed to criticize a general who is testifying before Congress. Yeah, just let the generals tell us that we’re making progress in Iraq and nobody can dare to question.
Who is going to be on the off-limits-for-criticism list next? You can see where that type of mentality is leading.

Wait so calling dems and liberals traitors is okay but when liberals call you a traitor it's not okay?
Does anyone else feel that rants like this belong on the playground and not in adult conversation? Grow up.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

What's the point of the war? Let them set up their own government, they don't need, and obviously, don't want our help. All the US is doing is getting people killed. If they wanna shoot each other, they don't need us there to show them how to do it. I'll pay more for gas if it'll save some US troops and bring home the National Guard.

Not at all. We support the troops--that's why we want them out of Iraq and Bush's war of aggression.
General Petraeus lied--and betrayed not onkly his duty as an officer but the troops under him, by failing to tell the truth testifying before Congress.
And yes--that makes him a traitor. The men and women serving under him are decent, brave Americans doing their duty. He is the one who failed to do his.

Hey Genius - there are Soldiers that served under GEN Petraus that said the same thing. What does that tell you? If you'd served you might know that. What Democrats said this - can you provide a link? Nice O'Reilly quote - your influences are apparent.

Nobody called the troops traitors. You’re making things up so that you can bash those whose views you don’t agree with. General Petraeus is being correctly criticized for his evasive and untruthful answers to the American people. Moveon.org’s ad was fair and was fair comment.

Democrats and Move on are just as much into the War as the Republicans are. Who are you kidding?
Both deemos and reepos love to send your children to war.
As for the troops... those poor kids, sent to commit genocide so that the elite can control the oil supply.
Peace.
