I really want another pet but my parents always say no when i ask for another one.

I have a cat but she is pretty boring and shes not so crazy about being held. And she gets bored with her toys pretty quick.

I would really like a gerbil. NO dogs (wont let me even though i LOVE them) NO parrots (annoying) NO fish (too boring) NO more cats (my cat doesnt like other cats) NO chinichillas i guess (very exspensive). But of you have a good reason why i should get one of these pets tell me why.

If you have any other ideas on pets let me know. And by chance do you have any ways to convice my parents to get another pet?? Thanks!

My answer depends on why your parents dont want u to have a pet. If its too much money for them to keep up, or they think ur not responsible enough, or if they just dont like gerbils. I dont know if you CAN convince your parents to change their minds. I know from experience because when I was younger I begged for a cat and the only reason why I couldnt have one is because my Dad claimed that he didnt like cats. They would have never changed their minds. I suggest you write them a note, this will spark their attention because u r so grown up and organised to propose getting a pet in writing, i would think that they couldn't resist! In the letter tell them about the research youv'e done about what it takes to keep this kind of pet and how much money it will cost and so on. then list the reasons why u think u are old enough/responsible enough to keep this pet. then end it with a big PLEASE! They may turn u down but at least u tried.

Ginnea pigs r fun, what about a mouse? they run around in balls and stuff. thats fun.

Good luck kiddo!

If your parents have already said, no - - and I suspect that you've pestered them about it more than once - - then you need to stop asking about it, take care of the pet you have, and show them how mature you can be. Given time and good attitude from you, they *might* let you have another pet, but don't push them into a corner!
