It's really up to the priest, so be sure to call around before you get your heart set on a certain parish. Naturally, they're going to have you swear that you'll bring up the child Catholic (that's why they require at least one Catholic-practicing godparent). If you have that intention, you'll probably have little or no resistance. If you just want to do this because the particular church is pretty or whatever (sorry if that sounds insulting, but I've had plenty of non-Catholic friends want to marry in Catholic churches because the pictures would be more attractive) that's not a good reason. Also the priest may be more amenable to the baptism if you're supporting parishioners; it shows at least a financial commitment.
Good luck!
ps Hey, can we borrow your godparents? My husband and I are Catholic but don't have any good Catholic friends or nearby relatives to ask.

I'm pretty sure that the will turn you away the catholics take baptism very seriously i think at the least there will be a requirement of you and you partner to have been 'confirmed' which is like an adult baptism which you have after the one as a child or they will require you to be a member of the church so i guess to find out you will have to speak to the church you wish to have it done in you never know they might allow it...I would just have a christing in your orignal church there are really pretty ones about as well.

It will be difficult.
One requirement is that the parents have to promise that they will raise the child as a Catholic.
If there is something in the parent's lifestyle that makes the priest think that they will not uphold this promise (like being members of the Church of England) then he can "delay" the baptism of the child until the situation is resolved.
Exceptions are made for emergency situations like danger of death.
For more information, see the Code of Canon Law, section 868: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG1104/__P2X.HTM
With love in Christ.

Why not have a Church of England Christening?
You may find it very difficult to have a catholic baptism if neither yourself or the father are catholic, usually you also have to be a regular in that church

sure, the Catholic Church will baptize your infant. The priest would ask some questions so as that he's for particular of your motive to strengthen the youngster Catholic, yet your son definitely may be baptized Catholic except you have shown a clean motive to no longer take the Catholic faith heavily.

If everyone on your dad's side is Catholic, one of them surely knows a nice understanding priest you can consult. He'll tell you if it's possible. You may have to convert-- from what I understand, you have to promise to raise the child in the Catholic faith.
But I'm obviously not a Catholic priest, so you should ask an expert.

Not that I know of? Why not your religion? We are Catholic and had to be regular members/donors and for our 3rd and 4th babies (different state we just moved to) had to take a class for it. Call the church and check on it, it is pretty strict.**No, you do not have to be married in a Catholic church for your children to be baptized that is not true, I was not. (one of the other answerers said you had to be).
