You respond as a professional - and only as a professional - until that student has graduated and is no longer receiving instruction or references from you. Crushes don't last long; if the student is serious about you and you are available, s/he will wait until after s/he finishes school.

It can be a disaster for you. If you were to do anything wrong (either to the student or to let others know that you are dating a student), your job is at risk.
If you were to act on this, it should be done after either one of you is not at the same institute. But if you know for sure that the student isn't the fickle kind that would report you and you are interested, as well, then go for it. I've known a lot of couples who were teacher-student and they are doing great. Good luck!

Ignore it pretend you do not know and just keep professional about it. It may very well cause problems in both of your lives. In the students life people will spread rumors and other type of garbage about them and for you, other teachers may treat you like your nothing. Like the other comment said if they really love you then they can wait until all teaching is over.
You don't want to let the student bluntly know that it would never happen because that may affect their concentration as well as their grade. So just avoid if possible but don't make it noticable.

It doesn't matter what the grade point average is, any professor whose student has a crush on him/her should discourage it at all costs.

Stick to business. Do not encourage anything but academics. It's flattering, but do not get distracted; for his sake as well as yours.
