That is really a debatable question. Twenty-five years ago all the medical literature said that it stopped ovulation. Now some doctors say that it does not. If it does not stop ovulation, then it is an abortion device.

most just stop inplantation. you still ovulate but the walls of the uterus won't allow implantation because the hormones released by the pill have changed the chemical make up.
