I'm a huge germaphobe. I remember once my dog licked me on my mouth by mistake and I was so grossed out. I don't mind if my dog licks me on my hands or something but anywhere near the mouth is to much for me.

I let my kids kiss me...its not like my dog can come in contact with any more germs than they do from school. I luv my puppy.

Although I have been a long time dog owner, I'm not especially fond of being licked (let's avoid the obvious ribald puns concerning people, okay?).
Of course, I don't think *anyone* would want to be licked by any dog (or cat, etc) after they've raided the garbage, or attacked a bird or frog or something, drank from the toilet, or just tossed his/her cookies, etc!
However, if it doesn't harm the dog, it probably won't harm you.
Regardless, if you're a germaphobe (no, it doesn't mean you dislike Germans!), I doubt that you'll let anyone or anything near you, so what's the issue?

I thought it was gross too before i had a dog but now i dont mind her licking my face ^.^ Oh before i forget, for a fact Dogs' saliva are way cleaner than humans' When a mother dog licks her puppies most of the harmful bacterias are actually being killed. So dun worry about the licking. Think we should start worrying about kissing some other human beings instead.

I let my dog like me on the face all the time and sometimes she ends up licking my mouth. I suppose to a lot of people it's gross but I'm a huge dog person and it doesn't bother me at all. Though I do draw the line at frenching.

Yeah I know it's really gross I watched this one show were this guy let his dog lick the INSIDE of his mouth! I had to change the channel it grossed me out so bad.

Not at all for my family. We let our dogs lick our face. This might gross some people out, but we share our food with them, even our spoons. They have cleaner mouths than humans.

I don't let her lick me on the mouth, just cuz that seems weird, but I let my dog lick my face. She's showing affection!

I can't handle saliva of any sort so yeah that completely grosses me out. What really is gross is how they don't seem to mind or stop the dog so they're practically making out with the thing.

No to the licking faces. Yes to licking the mouth. My pup loves giving us kisses but it is only alowed on the cheek, kneck or forhead. She gets scolded if she licks our mouths.
