IF the decision of who would be our next President rested squarely on your shoulders (everyone else had voted, it was a complete tie and you were the last person to vote), do you know who you would vote for? Would you be voting FOR a person, or just AGAINST all the rest? Would you vote for this person because you know what they stand for, and how they've voted before, or would you vote for this person because they are popular, or won the last debate or poll?
I think we all know that the public does not pick the President, the Electoral College does, but IF it worked like I said, do you feel like you could decide who our next President would be?
Right now, I couldn't. If I had to vote in the next 5 minutes, I'd have to say that most of my vote would be based on who I didn't want to be President, instead of voting FOR the person who best represents the issues that I care about.

Lynda C, That's great! I wish I could say the same thing. I wish AMERICA could say the same thing. I know I'm not as educated about the candidates as I'd like to be, but I think America as a whole is about where I am too. It's too bad too, we have a great country and we're letting a few people who are great at spinning what they want us to believe decide who our future leader will be.

I typically find myself voting for mostly Republicans, but I like Richardson. However I agree, he won't win. He might get a cabinet position - at best.

Yes, I do know, and I would be voting for a person and not against one. I would be voting for certain national and foreign policies that I think are in the best interest of the entire United States and not just a small number of citizens.. I would be voting for what is best for the future of our children and what would be best for them economically, socially, educationally, health wise, and in every way possible.

I can say that I have thoroughly researched each candidate and I know who I would vote for right now.
I will admit that the major candidates (Thompson, Giulani, Romney, McCain, Obama, Edwards, Clinton, Richardson, etc) have received a lot more attention then those I feel are not electable, (Brownback, Huckabee, Kucinich, Dodd)

I feel the same way, and I've been voting that way since the 80s. I'm not voting for a favorite so much as I'm voting against someone I want to keep out of office.

Absolutely. I would vote for Ron Paul. You may have seen that a number of us are quite vocal about him here. Even when they don't agree with us, our opponents must admit that we are voting FOR something and on PRINCIPLE.
Thanks for your great question. Knowing that most people are as uninformed or more than you, it kind of shakes your confidence in the electoral system doesn't it? The electoral college doesn't make it any better in my opinion.

I am 100% FOR Ron Paul (R-TX). My second choice is Mike Gravel (D-AK).
These 2 old guys seem to be the only ones who have the guts to speak the truth.

Yes I do. I would vote for Wayne Allen Root. He is a moderate libertarian with many mainstream points of view. Go check him out, you might just like him too. http://www.rootforamerica.com/

I pretty sure who I will vote for. I've done lots of research.
I will never vote for any of the dems, McCain or Rudy due to their pro-amnesty views.
GO FRED!

I would pick Richardson, but he doesn't stand a chance because he is overweight, which in America right now is worse than being incompetent.
