If you can provide some examples of Socialist or Communist countries with lower unemployment, higher GNP, a better standard of living, higher income and higher economic growth than the Capitalist United States I would appreciate this.

If this isn't possible then an explanation of why the Democrat party favors Socialism and quite often meets and supports Communist governments over Capitalism that would be helpful as well.

Thanks.

The Democrat party currently stands for higher taxes, larger government (ie. state run health care and more), the distribution of wealth through welfare and other social programs. How is this not being in favor of socialism. A party that wants to take care of people from womb to tomb is socialist no matter what they call themselves. I don't understand why no one can address the question.

I am not a democrat. However it appears that democrats want to legislate equality of outcome, equality of opportunity, which republicans favor, is not good enough for democrats. Socialism would dampen the competitive and entrepreneurial spirit, and take from the producers and give to the slackers. Democrats - lets provide school vouchers, so we can provide equality of opportunity at least.

communism, socialism, fascism is basically the same thing, wealth in the hands of a few and a large slave class.

to keep people who are prospering from getting wealthier over time, they tax us. the social concern for the poor is a farce. the purpose of most taxation is wealth consification. it is the bankers who primarily pull the strings, politicians are usually just puppets.

It is their dream to own everything. But there is one little pesky thing standing in their way. Human rights. and we outnumber them greatly. So they have to manipulate, propragandize etc to get what they want so they don't raise any red flags on a societal level of their true agendas.

if the majority of people in america and other industrial nations knew the true motives (because they actually admitted it) then there would be a revolution against the bankers. So they push some social concern agenda about showing concern for unfortunant among them and people buy it because the average person cares about others. And people think we should be a socialist country so all can have what they need. of course they don't tell people communism and socialism is the same thing.

Then you would really have a mess. They defraud, manipulate government, bribe, threaten use intrigue to get what they want. And they are doing it. who do you think is behind the united nations and nwo? the bankers!

Isn't turning over all industry to Corporations a form of Socialism or Communism except without the accountability and more dangerous? Think about it. Is there really any difference? No. Instead of the government controlling everything and the people paying for it, corporations control everything and the people pay for it. The US government has even gone as far as taking tax payer money and giving it to already multi million and multi billion dollar corporations in the form of corporate welfare. There is most definitely a form of communism and socialism going on and it's not redistributing the wealth down to those who need it most, it's redistributing the wealth UP to those who already have it and want more!

"Our" standard of living is now based on borrowing instead of producing. What current prosperity we have is an illusion, caused by most homeowners borrowing to the hilt based on the increase of equity in their homes, and now their loans are more than than what their houses are worth, and many of their ARMs are about to reset to a much higher interest rate - bringing a new wave of foreclosures. I'ts literally going to cost them an ARM and a leg.

I think your premise of Democrat = Socialism is off base. There isn't a Democrat I know that would agree with this. Anything else I have to say has already been stated by others here.

Objection. The "question" assumes something without any basis for it.
It is like asking: For Republicans: Why does your party want fascism instead of democracy?
This is a common ploy- mischaracterize the opponent's position and put him on the defensive. Try to attach a negative image to the opponent. Then, he is forced to defend himself.
This type of argument, disguised as a question, shows a low level of ethics and a win-at-all costs mentality. This is what makes people hate politics and political questions.
Rather than engage in a constructive discussion of public policy, this brings things to a lower-level.
Let's raise the level here. We can do better than this.

Republicans are socialists too. Liberals are socialists too.
The current administration is very socialist. Universal health care, national ID, national security over civil liberties, it's a long list of telltales.

Democrats don't and never have advocated Socialism over Capitalism. Some people choose to believe the right wing radical propaganda and I feel sorry for those poor saps. I guess some people will believe anything. Those conservative hate radio talking heads have been stirring the pot again I see. Most Americans are too smart to believe their hateful clap trap.
