The other answerer was correct- it takes about 6-8 weeks from the final judgement. If you know where he is could you ask him to start on his own and give him a receipt? Or if he paid you by money order then he would have a receipt.

It is a difficult situation to be in. My ex wouldn't pay me anything until we went to court although he did see the kids- and that was after he cleared the checking account and cashed out our home equity loan! I wasn't working at the time so it was a scramble.
Can you ask his family for help? Hopefully it will come through soon.

it should take about 8 weeks for the time you got a judgment
you were lucky it took me 6 months to get a court date and that was with him in total agreement. Ask your ex for some money to tie you over until the checks come if he has any morals he should, tell him you will give him a receipt for any funds he gives you and you could also get them notarized at your local bank. Good luck and if you don't get any thing in 8 weeks call the office that is handling the manner and find out what is going on, paper work some times get misplaced.

if the man doesnt pay, then you dont get paid. The order might be in effect but if the money doesnt come from him, the county or state isnt gonna give it to you? once he pays the C.S.S. they will send u a check or you have to get it from him personally.
looks like you should find another guy to take care of your kids. My wife and I thought about this because we know people in the same situation....why doesnt the state lock these guys up? well we came to the conclusion that if they did....then the jails would be full of dead beat dads and mothers and there simply isnt enough room to house them all. therefore, it's almost impossible for the law to enforce there penalties.

Because they don't care.
I'm in the same boat as you and I think I've lost my paddle.
Make sure that when the money starts coming in (even if your old and gray by that time) to have it come through the court. If you have to get it yourself from him then you will never see a dime.
Good luck to you!

In some cases files are lost or pushed back or they can't locate the father to get him to pay. Or perhaps he just hasn't paid. It can take years in some cases.

I've had my order for 2 1/2 years...but he won't get a job because his family lets him mooch.

My children are owed over $32,000.

Because there are too many people in this world having children and not staying in the relationship with the other parent.
