Oh, yes, it's very normal. My daugter was born 8/22/05! They share a birthday!!
Anyway, I kept saying that NO ONE tells you that you're going to be in such uncomfortable pain for up to 6 weeks!! I couldn't take a poop without cringing for a long time. And when the 6 weeks were up and my husband was ready to start back in on life I thought he was crazy. I literally laughed in his face.
If you had an episiotomy it will take you longer to heal, so give yourself time. Think about how much stress your body had to go through to get your little girl into the world. It took 9 months to get you ready for that, give yourself 9 weeks to get back to feeling closer to normal.
Good luck, new mommy!!

okay! the bleedig is normal. you can bleed for up to six weeks, sometimes longer. however you should not be wiping yourself yet. the hospital (when you gave birth) should have given you a squirt bottle to clean yourself with. you should still be using that for at least another week or more. also you should still be doing 2 twenty minute sitz baths a day. all of the above will help with the pain and swelling. you need to keep it really clean down there. the only time i would worry is if you are starting with an odor. that is normally a sign of an infection. it usually takes 6 weeks to completely heal from child birth but some women take alittle longer. your doctor will check you at 6 weeks to see how your doing. good luck to you and your new baby!

What type of bleeding are you taking about? Are you refering to the lochia? If so, it is common to continue bleeding for up to six weeks, sometimes longer. I had my daughter on the 14th of August and I am still bleeding. How much does it hurt when you have a BM? Has the pain decreased since the birth of your child? I still have some pain, but it has decreased significantly. My ob said it was normal to still have some pain and tenderness. Call your ob if you are concerned.

No, bleeding isn't traditional. It is most important to head very slowly and use plenty and plenty of lube with anal intercourse. And ALWAYS use a condom. You have got to be very comfy and further time be spent on foreplay to make you extra became on. Anal intercourse isn't for every person and if you're now not one hundred% comfy with the suggestion then it could actually rationale you to worrying up and also you don't want that in any respect.

Hi Mommy
Congratulations on the birth of your baby!
I am not a doctor and cant say what is 'normal'.. but after I had each of my sons, I bled for a good 6 weeks or so. It was bright red and very copious at first, and it tapered off and turned brownish later on.
If you are concerned it is always a good idea to give a call to your doctors' office and speak to the on-call nurse!

My son was born on the 23rd August and I'm still sore, pain with BM and I'm still bleeding (though not much). I had the same with my daughter - it took approx. 6 weeks for it all to stop so I guess its pretty normal.

I had an episiotomy also the first time, but I don't remember bleeding for that long, I would call the doctor and ask what you should do.

Call your OB/GYN, but actually it takes 4-6 weeks to recover from giving birth. Congratulations on your new baby!
