Just stay with what you have been using, and by all means --do not-- switch to synthetic unless you want all kinds of leaks, knocks, etc. Every one seems to believe, most people i should say, seem to believe everything they hear how good synthetic oil is. OK ,maybe in a new engine ? an older engine that has larger clearances, gaskets that are brittle or at least hard anyway like where they are just fine. As far as the higher mileage oils they are suppose to have additives in them to help with worn engine parts.
I think its just another way for them to charge more for the product.

you have payed somewhat too plenty right now. the subsequent time you elect an oil substitute, purchase your person oil and clear out and then take it to the oil substitute center. ultimately you will locate one that is prepared to alter it, even after hours, for $15-20. extreme mileage oil frequently has extra detergent, and the oil molecules are engineered to be longer and extra preserving of inner areas weakened by age or abuse. 120K miles isn't something for a Taurus engine, as this is been synthetic by a similar technique it somewhat is utilized in Mercedes Benz engines, solid with a terrific variety of silicon interior the block. The besy element to do is have your engine evaluated for the formation of sludge, have it de-sludged, if needed, and stick to a hundred% man made oil. It lasts longer, protects extra suitable, and frequently purely choose changing if is purely too thick or grimy to do this is activity, to lubricate and clean. Mobil One is the ultimate answer while you evaluate that's obtainable. solid success!!

Personally I feel that as long as you change your oil regularly...high mileage is a waste of money. Although oil viscosity has come a long way over the years, regular oil changes is one important key to long life of your vehicle.

High mileage oil has extra addatives in it. You don't need that if you change your oil regularly, say every 3-5000 miles.good luck

I would recommend you continue using the same type of oil you have been. It sounds like you have been taking good care by reguar oil changes.

No, as long as you change your oil every 3000 miles, you don't need it. All major brand oils have good detergents in them. Its a bunch of hype you don't need.

If you've managed that kind of life with conventional engine oil, then continue using it.

I assume you mean synthetic oil, which allows you to go longer between changes. So, you pay more to change oil, but you don't change as often.

yes you need it, it will save your car from allot of damage. if you use ordinary oil you will not see the difference at first but give it some time and you will see, your car will lose power, increase in smoke.. etc.
