Hi Bill.

NICET offers certifications in many areas of engineering disciplines. Without knowing if you are looking for advice on construction, transportation, utilities, fire protection, industrial instrumentation, etc. it makes it very difficult to respond to your question.

I currently hold 4 certificates in the area of fire protection discipline. NICET testing is fairly tough. They have a very tricky way of asking many of their questions. While they are multiple choice, they are not easy by a long shot. Being a open book test, they expect you to be referencing the standards and guides as you test. Without a good knowledge of where to look for the answers and being able to do so quickly, you will find it difficult to pass many modules in one sitting.

I highly recommend some training information. There are several on-line resources available as well as places you can send away for audio CD's and practice tests.

If you are testing in fire protection and feel I could offer some further advice, please feel free to contact me directly. (Use my profile to send me email.)

Bill, quick suggestion....

I think you've posted the question in the weather section by accident, maybe get better responses posting it in the engineering section (if there is one) or a section more closely related to NICET.

If you're about to take the exam then good luck.
