What could I put outside to repel them. I've checked all over the yard and there is nothing that could promote them. Could it be rose bushes? I need something to make them leave my yard.

They're always there. Nothing has died and I don't live in a rural area. I can't figure it out. It has been going on all summer.

I feel your pain! It's just fly season. Not really a source, per se.

We had similar problem and so we bought these fly traps: http://www.professionalequipment.com/fly-trap-trap-n-toss-014624/pest-management/

The stuff you put in them stinks horribly, but as long as you put the trap somewhere away from your doors and windows, you will catch many of the flies.

NOTE: This sounds gross, but these traps can hold up to 20,000 flies and you will be totally shocked to see how many show up! For less than $7, these bad boy traps are amazing!

Do you live in a rural area, near horses (@ least within 3 miles)? That can cause an influx of flies.

Cheap fix: Take an empty 2 liter soda bottle with the cap on. Fill it 1/3 full of OJ (or soda) and punch a hole in the side. This should bring them in and they'll drown.
I know they're gross but also try using those sticky tapes inside and out.

There's also a spray that you can put on your screen or the glass of your doors that should help repel them.

It could be the shade. They don't like the heat. What you need is a a simple bait. Take a two liter plastic soda bottle. Cut the top so it's like a funnel. Turn the top upside down. Punch a couple of holes near the top of both pieces so you can put something in the holes like string so you can hang it up. Fill the container with water about 1/4 full. Drop a piece of meat in the funnel and have it in the water. You have now created a fly trap. All you need to do is add water sometimes.
