I bought a cell phone for my teen and before we got home she had gotten a text from an internet dating service. Then a few days later a text from someone none of us know. I would love to be able to have her phone enabled so that she could neither send or receive texts.

Usually cell phone companies will block texts from cell phones if you email them about it or call them. Like for example, I didn't want to receive any kind of texts on my phone, so all I did was email Verizon and tell them to take off text messaging and they did.

Yeah, but of course the cell phone companies love to make money off you anyway you can.

You can restrict outgoing with most companies, but incoming are very hard to restrict, most companies don't have that ability.

call your customer service and ask them to restrict ALL text abilities, and see what they can do for you.
