What kind of speeds is it supposed to get?

It depends on the package you purchased from your ISP and the distance from the exchange. Also time of day, how many you are sharing with and traffic at the time, other applications you have running - the list is endless.

It is able to get speeds up 240mbps. But just like the car rated at 45 mpg only get 25 in real life, the "N" routers will rarely reach that speed. And if you have more than one PC using the connection or are more then ten feet from the router, it will never reach that speed.

But it will still be better then your current "G" router.
