12 / (x + 2) = 4 / (x - 2)
12 (x - 2) = 4 (x + 2)
12 x - 24 = 4 x + 8
8 x = 32
x = 4

12/(x+2) = 4/(x-2)

12(x-2) = 4(x+2)

12x - 24 = 4x+8

12x - 4x = 8 + 24

8x = 32

x = 32 / 8

x = 4

12/(x+2) = 4/(x-2)

12(x-2) = 4(x+2)

12x-24 = 4x+8

8x = 32

x = 4

12/(x+2) = 4/(x-2)
Cross multiply getting:
4(x+2) = 12(x-2)
4x+8= 12x - 24
32 = 8x
4 = x

12/(x+2 =4(x-2)
cross multiplying:
12(x-2)=4(x+2)
divide by 4;
3(x-2)=x+2
3x-6+x+2
2x=8
x=4.ANS.

if u're fixing for x and there is an equivalent sign with a fragment on the two component, right this is what u do: multiply the perfect area of the left hand by ability of the backside area of the recommendations-blowing hand, and the backside area of the left hand by ability of the perfect area of the recommendations-blowing hand so.... 5x/-30 = x-5/4 5x * 4 = -30 * x-5 20x = -30x+one hundred fifty (-30 cases -5 makes an excellent) then u get the x's on one component: 20x+30x = -30x +30x -one hundred fifty 50x = -one hundred fifty and now purely get x by ability of itself, so divide the two factors by ability of 50: x = -3 and there ya pass.
