For several years yahoo provided a discussion B.B. on Yahoo News with a "button" at the end of each article where readers could follow the link to or create a new discussion. As time went by many of the discussions, especially about the Iraq War, became increasingly critical of the Bush Regime. Many "errors" started to occur, "discussions" disappeared for weeks, and when the reappeared many of the posts critical of Bush had been "disappeared".

More than a year ago Yahoo "suspended" the discussion feature, stating that the suspension was only temporary and would return when the system had been modified to limit the number of posts by individual users so that no one could dominate a discussion simply by constantly posting. That method already existed, there was already a limit to the number of posts a member could post in one day, so what was the true reason the discussion boards were done away with?

I complain about this issue constantly. At the time the news boards were functional, I actually defended the Bush regime. I now believe he was wrong, and I made a mistake in voting for him.

You can thank Yahoo VP Neil Buddhe for getting rid of the Yahoo News discussion boards.

The guy is such a jerk, he won't even answer questions about the lack of a new venue that he promised.
Yahoo hopes that this issue fades away, and people forget you were ever able to comment on news stories. I believe the real reason they got rid of the news boards is because they were too much of a hassle. The got tired of having to hire administrators to try to keep control of contentious conversations.

However, this was an avenue of expression used by tens of thousands of users to discuss items of importance. I am quite displeased that they have not kept their word on this and provided a forum for discussion.

Sounds like a nice legend. You should try to spread that. It should rank right up there with the 9/11 conspiracy stuff.

If you computer crashes is it Bushes fault? That is the problem with people like you, anything that happens you don't like, then it is Bushes fault. Did you know Bush paid the iceberg that sunk the Titanic?

Liberals were getting punished by the conservative posters and Yahoo editors couldn't stand it.
