I was reading the article in regard to the Goldman's appearing on Oprah(http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070914/ap_en_ot/simpson_book_winfrey), and talking about the book that they published after they took rights from OJ Simpson, and Mr Goldman said this..."It brings a certain level of satisfaction that we've taken something from him," he said. "I think it also is a recognition for him to know forevermore that we're going to be after him ... to punish him for what he's done, to get some piece of justice."

Now I've had friends and family members taken from me, violently and otherwise, and the pain of that is so devastating, so I can empathize with their feelings. However, while I may have gone after the rights of the book, it would have been to stop it from being published. People already know if they think he's innocent or not. And in my opinion, if it is a "confession" it just further glorifies the fact that he got away with it...

But how would you have handled this situation?

@spotsb4myeyes...

i appreciate your opinion, but how would you feel this situation should have been handled? so are you saying that you too, in this situation would have published this book if it were about how your son was killed, written by the "killer"? And how will OJ make money off a book he doesn't have rights to?

ceI know a little something about storing up hate.
It is a bitter pill and one taken at lease once a day.
Now that I am older and somewhat more experienced I know that forgiveness is absolutely necessary in order for me to live a happy ,relatively healthy life.
Every dollar made off that hideous book is the selling of the memory of the tragic event.
Could you drive a car bought with the money made from the tragic memory of a loved ones murder?
At this point the Goldmans have to be very very ill from carrying that hate around for so long
.Or it's all about the money.

1)People are going to buy the book regardless of whether or not they believe OJ was guilty. People love the sensensational (car wrecks, war live on TV, plane crashes, etc).

2)The Goldmans took OJ to court and won.

3)OJ is going to make money from this book.

I support the Goldmans 100%. Someday they may need to take care of the grandchildren, and those kids might need quite a bit of care after all they have been through.

I would have taken the book right away from OJ but I wouldn't have turned around and had the book published for money as he is doing. It seems to be more about money for Goldman then the death of his son.

I pray to God I am never in that situation.

If someone murdered a family member of mine I don't think I could get over it. I know for my own good I may have to move on with life. But if tragedy visited the individual I believed was responsible I would be glad it did.

You are rambling too much dude. I started reading what you wrote, but gave up before the end. Life is short.
