Rutland is historically the smallest of the England mainland, although when it was reinstated as a resgistered one, weren't a load of other minor ones i.e. Bristol, City of London. Isle of Wight must be a county, and that can't be much bigger than a turd. Anyway, the biggest is officially North Yorkshire, of course Yorkshire's been divided up now because of ethnic fighting within the county and the narrowly averted civil war. Third largest is Cumbria (although a popular rumour means that we all say it IS the largest) but always remember: quality over quantity.

Yorkshire. Has Rutland been re-instated? I though most of it had been flooded by Rutland water and the rest divided between Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. When I worked in Oakham (former county town of Rutland) I worked for the local authority, and that was Leicestershire County Council.
