That is the spider. Please let me know if you know what it is, or where I can find out. Is it poisonous, dangerous in any way, etc.? And we have a one-year old too... I'm pretty sure it can harm him. Thanks.

Everyone who said "Wolf Spider" are right on. They are harmless. They are not poisonous to humans and they can not harm you baby. If it did bite, it would be like a mosquito bite at most. Just get a glass and a stiff piece of paper to trap and gently guide it onto the paper and put it back outside where it can get to work eating the buggies that you don't want around.
Good Luck

I would like to point out the brown recluse is a small spider rarely growing larger than the size of a penny. Every brown spider is not a brown recluse. They aren't deadly either. However, they can cause a nasty narcotizing wound if not treated promptly.

I think it looks like a wolf spider. Check out the pic. of the Florida wolf spider cause there are several types of wolf spiders listed. The second source is the full text about this type of spider. Hope it helps. :) If i were you with a little one I would use a bug bomb for spiders and leave for the day and then come back and air out the house. Also don't for get to cover your child's toys that may be put in its mouth don't want bug fog to get on them!

That's a wolf spider. It's NOT a Brown Recluse Spider. I have specimens here in my office and the body is all wrong.
All spiders bite but not all are venomous.
This particular spider is not venomous.
They're awesome hunters, running after their prey, not catching them in a web. They'll eat a lot of other unwanted "guests" in your home.
They typically live outside but now that it's cooling down he probably came inside for warmth.
I had one in my office yesterday which I shoo'd out the door with my foot. Never saw him again.

Wolf Spider, maybe a Huntsman. From my experience it looks a bit big for a brown recluse and has too much hair. And yay for barky, there's another spider expert!

Hmm. not too sure, but that may be a Brown Recluse, In which case it could be a problem, its bite is known to cause necrosis.

I hope I'm wrong, but, in any case I hope you get it/them

Good Luck

I'm an arachnaphob, so I'd kill it.

I use Ortho Home Defense once every other month, just to be safe.
