What If Liberals Had Our Own Country?

If liberals had our own country, there would be publicly financed elections.
If liberals had our own country, there would be no corporate welfare.
If liberals had our own country, minimum wage for any full-time worker would be $30,000. per year and at least $10.00 per hour for any part time workers.
If liberals had our own country, workers would be free to choose whether or not they wanted to be represented by a union.
If liberals had our own country, every citizen would have Health Care.
If liberals had our own country, NO child would be left behind and every school would be fully funded.
If liberals had our own country, every child would go to college.
If liberals had our own country, the rich and the corporations would pay their fair share of taxes.
If liberals had our own country, abortions would be few, safe and legal.
If liberals had our own country, there would be zero tolerance gun control.
If liberals had our own country, our military would not be spread so

thin.
If liberals had our own country, our military would receive better pay and benefits and never be at risk of losing their homes.
If liberals had our own country, we would have a Department of Peace that would attack the causes of terrorism, such as poverty, famine, etc.
If liberals had our own country, the environment would be a top priority because it belongs to everyone and a government that acts responsibly would want to leave it in the best condition possible for future generations.
If liberals had our own country, we would have a government that acted in the best interests of its people. A government that set the bar high for the rest of the World, to show that we have the greatest country on Earth and that it is a beacon of hope, prosperity, justice and equality!

The old Soviet workers had a saying "We pretend to work and the gov't pretends to pay us."

If everyone is guaranteed high wages, why should anyone try very hard. Just show up, plant your butt in the chair, and goof off most of the day. Your Union would protect your job. Do you think the old Soviet Union was an economic success story? Same thing if you tax too much. People, especially entrepeneurs lose their incentive to excel because the rewards get taxed away.

Liberals "own" public education now. Look at the sorry state it's in.

Where on earth is all this funding going to come from for high wages, universal healthcare, fully funded schools, free college, publicly financed elections, etc. Maybe if you guys cranked up the printing presses, but then the money becomes worthless.

As for the military, how would you keep it strong? Since when do liberals want to serve in the military? Liberals loathe the military.

A wonderful premise, but what actually would happen is within 24 hours of declaring 'Statehood' the conservative country would bomb the living crap out of anything standing and go home and highfive and buttslap each other declaring there is another war they won.

Some day, some how the neocons will get their comeuppance. Unfortunately, I see too many willing to subjugate themselves to the Patriot Act and other lies coming from Pennsylvania Ave. to actually do what it takes to make a decent world to live in.


In a perfect world there would be healthcare across the board, full funded education for those who want it and the military would have to have a bake sale to buy a bomb...

You know what I think. Sounds great but you just state what the ideal situation would be without coming up with a realistic plan of how any of that would work. Easier said than done. How bout coming back to earth and actually making a difference instead of talking about it.
