Women cheat as well. Been there, so I'll answer in a general sense.
People cheat on each other....in my opinion because of the following:
** They didn't know their partner very well before getting married (or relationship).
** They settled.
** They changed beyond the scope of the marriage/relationship.
** partner changed beyond the scope of the marriage/relationship.
** Temptation
** Drugs/alcohol, etc
** Sexual mismatch
** One person or the other changed physically.
** Stresses of life; bad boss/neighbors/in-laws/friends introducing undue stress.
** Unrealistic expectations or demands.
** Lack of maturity, morals and ethics.
** Entered into the marriage/relationship with improper motivations.
That's what I come up with off the top of my head. There may be others, but that's the gist of it I think.

some men cheat because they have nothing else to do and are sometimes lonely in ther marriage or feel the need to be wanted. the side effects are sometimes they wives never find out but i would tell if i knew anyone like this.

Men and women cheat for many reasons, mostly lack of attention and feeling rejected so when someone else gives them that attention they take it. I know that was the case for me. But, like an old man said: the grass may be greener on the other side of the fence but it still has to be mowed!

Little boys see their dad or mom cheat so chances are he will cheat on his wife, infidelity runs in families. The effects of an affair is so devastating that it can take years to get over it.

First of all, you shouldn't of cheated. The consequences are gruesome. She has lost all complete trust and attraction towards you. She sounds like she is trying to get back at you now for the hurt you caused her so that you can get a taste of your own medicine. I don't want to say that you deserve it, that would be rude (sarcasm) But dude, your loss. To gain everything back, just pray. Seek God in order to become a changed, new and improved man. It's a true saying "To win a woman's heart, truly, is to seek Gods heart in order to get to hers."

There's something , they think, is missing in their lives, maybe they feel they didnt find the one for them and there is "much better" out there.
Also, its our egos---someone giving us sexual attention builds our egos beyond belief.
But, in a real world, be warned---you can get on a "sexual high" playing and flirting---and every day life is too boring then. When you get wrapped up in this "sexual high", its very difficult to come down----only after you have lost everything you had. Talk to people who have had this experience.
People I know who have cheated say that it was not worth it.

i think men would cheat their wives if they no longer feel the love ,the attraction .And when the wives take them for granted ,not appreciating them ,always nagging .

Don't limit this to men. I have always been a faithful husband. It was an ex wife that cheated on me. Its not a gender thing, it is a human thing.

They cheat because they choose to. They end up getting divorced if the woman is smart.
