I need a first car, I only plan on driving it for a year or so then i'll finance a newer one..but I was looking at a 1999 Chevy Malibu with 136,000 miles on it..

I read some things that said Malibus are really bad cars, but some also said that they will last if they are maintained well..

So idk? Help. Thanks.

Have a safety (buyers inspection) completed on it. Check the Intake manifold gasket for leakage. Thats the biggest complaint. That and burning thru brakes. They had some brake/rotor issues on the late 90's models.

But all around decent cars. Just be good to it :)

Check Craigslist.com daily, see what they are selling for and then buy it for less or the same.

They are good cars if they have been taken care of.
