about it besides letting them overripe? See, i planted some watermelons this past summer, and there are a couple left, but he wants to wait till they are huge, and i know they won't be good to eat if i leave them longer. HOW to make him understand?

Let him choose one to leave longer. Then he can see that you are right and he's an idiot. It's my favorite game to play with my know-it-all husband. I don't argue, just let him have his way, then he sees that I am the one who is always right and he should listen to me. After three years, he is starting to get the point.
