Nashville. The Cumberland River runs right through downtown. The Titan's stadium, among other places, is on the East side. Music Row, and 2nd Avenue (the nightlife scene) is on the West side.

NYC is a collection of islands separated from each other by rivers. (Except the Bronx, which is on the US mainland) The Hudson river separates Manhattan & the Bronx from New Jersey, the East River separates Manhattan & the Bronx from Queens and Brooklyn and Long Island proper. The Harlem river separates Manhattan from the Bronx, Upper New York Bay separates Staten Island from the rest of the boroughs.
Philadelphia has two rivers. The Delaware river separates it from New Jersey and the Schuykill river separates Center City from West/Southwest Philadelphia.
Washington DC has the Potomac river that flows through it.

It's not considered a "major" city but Charleston,SC had 2 rivers running through. The Ashley and the Cooper rivers meet to form the Atlantic ocean.

Wouldn't any city with a river running through it match this requirement? Chicago, New York, etc.
