I have the best husband. A house. 2 cute kitties. A supportive family. Great friends. A decent job. And we're all pretty healthy.
AND...$300 to our name.

Awww that's nice. At first I thought you were one of those annoying spoiled 12 year old girls and I was about to get mad but then I saw this and smiled.

Yes, I think you are rich. Many of us do not have the security of a good relationship, supportive family (and two cats - I am a cat person btw) etc. Money is not the issue... if you are happy that is fantastic. Happiness comes from the simple things in life, not how many cars you have or whatever. For me my cat purring on my lap, wall- to- wall dogs at my feet (amazing just how much space two pooches can take up when spread out panting on the floor) , the crickets outside, the smell wet earth and the the soft spring rain. Oh...and the bar of chocolate that I am feeding my face with. I too am rich.

No, it sounds nice, but not by the standards in our neighborhood. We would be on the 'poor' side because we are only upper-middle class. We have a nice house, might sell for ovr $350,000 but suggested at $296,000 plus assets, new cars...we used to have businesses and we all still hold jobs. I am a supervisor for a fundraising outlet. I have two interviews next week...one at a health clinic and another at a financial consultation firm. May go back to serving--miss the tips but hate doing so. Could keep that part-time job I have for extra money...

I would say that you're rich for the time being, but financial woes have a way of destroying relationships. In addition to that, what will you do in the event of a crisis where some money is required? Just a couple of things to think about...

Satisfaction is wealth. You are indeed rich, if you know the Lord Jesus Christ, and are grateful to God for His blessings in your life!
The word of God asks, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his immortal soul?", and commands that we not look enviously at your neighbour's possessions.
A reporter asked billionaire Rockefeller "what could YOU want?" He answered quickly, "More." He was not satisfied, as you are; so he was not rich like you are!!!

If you're happy, that's all that really matters.
You're "rich in life." Or a better way to say it is that you're life in "enriched."
Me, I have the opposite problem. I have tons of money in the bank (and about to deposit yet another $5,000.00), but I have none of the other things that you have. So, technically, I'm rich too, but not in spirit.

You are rich beyond comparison, it's not even about the house and money. You have loving people close to you, that's the great prize. And the cats! Icing on the cake!
Congratulations.
