Which of these teams does he like better and does he have a favorite player?
I like both the Bears and the Colts, but if they go head to head, hands down I'm rooting for the Colts, without question. I bet he has a true preference. If you aren't sure ask his friends or maybe his mom and dad. I bet you could find out his favorite player or if he would prefer a personalized jersey that way too.
The names for both teams people have mentioned are good. I would add one thing, some fans really get into the history aspect of football. Maybe he'd like a jersey from a retired player for one of those teams. Like Johnny Unitas (Colts) or Walter Payton (Bears). The throwback jerseys are pretty popular lately.

Based upon the way that the two teams are playing I'd say the Colts. One suggestion I might make...
How about getting a jersey, say for the Colts then getting him tickets for the last game of the season. The last game of the season for the Colts is December 30th against the Tennessee Titans and they play in Indy at the RCA Dome.
Urlacher would be the person's name for the back of the jersey if it is Chicago. If the Colts, you could go with Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai, Bob Sanders or Dwight Freeney.
I think that would be a nice holiday surprise for any guy that loves football. The Bears play at home on December 30th against New Orleans. But who wants to sit out in the frigid weather at Soldier Field compared to sitting nice and warm inside the RCA Dome. Although the game of the Bears vs the Saints should be a little more interesting.

get him a peyton manning jersey if he doesnt alreayd have one the colts are a lock to win the afc south this year while the bears are facing some competition from the packers and vikings . and manning never has an off year so ur safest bet wud be a manning jersey have a good day miss

Every fan has to have a team, whever is he from? He has to like one better than the other, The only football fans I've met that liked multiple teams and didn't have a favorite were those who were just very casual fans and catched a game every once in awhile, try to do some digging.
I don't like personalized jerseys, I think they are very cheesy, but maybe he does :O Again, most I know don't.

Don't get his name on the back!! Totally lame...the safest bet would be getting him either an Urlacher or Manning jersey...either one of those would be a great addition to his sports wardrobe...personally I would go with Urlacher, but then again I'm from Chicago.
