I don't really want to take a loan, cause i might take more loan for grad school. I am pretty interested in business but who knows whether i REALLY like it, cause it might get tough or boring later on. i'm kind of interested in health, just not being doctor cause too much schooling, i would like to think about international business. but people around me tell me that business bachlor degree is useless, unless you get an MBA. what should i do, because i'm so bad at chemistry and don't like math neither.

If you aren't happy at the school you are attending right now, I believe you should transfer. I am planning on transfering to a new school too, because there are A LOT of things I don't like about the school I am currently attending. Just go for it, because the longer you take, the harder will get to transfer because things come up and you drop on GPA or whatever. If you can do it today why wait for tomorrow. Good Luck.

Check the accreditation ranking of Stony Brook first. Is it National or the higher standing of Regional? The higher the ranking the easier credits will transfer to another school. Before you decide, give some thought to where you would like to go and see what the requirements are there and if they'll take your credits from Stony Brook.

In any case, If it's a business degree you want it's a good idea to get your general requirements out of the way so you can concentrate your efforts on your major. I did this and watched others struggling at the end right before graduation with this sort of 'buzz-kill' attitude about their majors courses not being fresh in their mind upon graduation.

You'll run into Statistics so you'll need some confidence in your basic algebra, English, Western Civ. or other humanities electives will be required but not all will transfer easily. I required no sciences for my BBA. A BBS will be different and may approach certain requirements like statistics or psychology with a more science oriented program. Don't pay the money to be dissatisfied, Research your new school's program.

Stony Brook has always been known for its Science & Engineering, while I know they are hiring a new Dean for their Business School right now, if that person is smart, they will focus on the technology business. If you aren't interested in that, you clearly made a mistake in your choice of schools.

The problem with fulfilling the general requirements before you transfer is that the general requirements at Stony Brook may not be the general requirements elsewhere. You do need to make some decisions about what you want in a college before you make another mistake, but then I would try tranferring relatively soon, to avoid wasting units. I'm a business prof. who has looked at a number of schools in the area, so if you want some advice, I'd be glad to answer questions, but I would need to know a little more about what you want in a college in order to be terribly helpful.

If Stony is a science school why did you go there? You need to think more about colleges before going to them. Stony Brook is cheap, right? So why not stay and fill the core and then move to a school that better suits your major?
